Love Is In The Air!

The Tracy Community Choir is performing this Saturday in a show called “Love Is In The Air” featuring four choirs (ages 8 and up) performing music from High School Musical, Hairspray, Grease, The Lion King and West Side Story. And check this out, Lisa and I are singing with the adult choir! This is our first season with the choir and we are really stoked. The theater is really nice, everybody sounds so great, you really should get out there and hear these wonderful singers. Anyway, there are two shows, 2:00 and 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 10th at the Grand Theater in downtown Tracy. You can order tickets online or at The Grand Theater’s boxoffice. Hope to see you there! -dp

I did this one…

This is an awesome SUV, it’s gettin’ old and it’s not real good on gas, but it cleans up nice and hauls the family and the toys and the dog real good. Good old American muscle. I don’t care if you don’t like my SUV, get over it.

Hypocrtica!

Eight years ago, when Metallica became the poster band for the clash between the record industry and its fans, the whole thing started when drummer Lars Ulrich personally delivered a massive printout of the names of people who had been sharing Metallica songs on Napster to the company’s headquarters. But with only one record left on its Warner Music Group contract, the Ulrich says Metallica could be planning a digital release along the lines of what Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails have done, as ironic as that might seem.

Tracy Farmers Market

The Tracy Farmers Market opened this weekend and we enjoyed a warm Saturday morning checking out the car show, listening to music and of course buying good stuff to eat. It’s a little early in the growing season it seems and the was not as much fruit as I was hoping for, but still fun and we managed to come home with plenty of munchies. Here are some pics of our little adventure…

We lost our little bunny today.

Lisa found our little pal Trixy Trixie dead in her cage this morning. It’s a sad day in the Parker house, we really loved our little bunny. Rest in peace little friend, hope you found bunny heaven.

Lisa helps with the Z!

Still working on the Z, it’s runs but it has a miss fire, I suspect one of the new injectors are not functioning and I am looking at the wire harness that connects to the injectors, they are really old and brittle. Here is Lisa jumping in on the fun and helping me with a tight spot that my big hands just couldn’t get to. Thanks Lisa!

The cleaned up version of me!

Yesterday’s pic was a weekend shot and since I have been updating my LinkedIn Profile and thought I might get some new visitors to my site it seemed like I should post an updated, cleaned-up pic of me!

Got a LinkedIn? You should get one, then add me as a contact and we can be like LinkedIn people together! (I really like the LinkedIn thing, pretty cool)

Golden Age Of Radio

Picture they took of you in your cowboy hat
Makes you look like you are one of the boys
Out on a Saturday night, meanwhile on the outskirts of the dance hall
I’m a joke that you’d probably enjoy
On the outside of Memphis all the building look big
And the white picket fences all dare to charge around the lawn
And hold their heads up high when my headlights find them out
They’ll be the first to put their hands in the air with my radio on
Singing a country song soft and low

Oh when I’ve got a worried mind I know
I hear the ghost of Patsy Cline
On the Grand Old Opry Show

Living on the edge of the city limit line
This is where the boundary finally ends
And I swear that we’re the last living souls in a populated ghost town
All the billboards are our best friends
Which way did our last chance go and can we
Get out if we go right now?
It seems that with the malls and the mega-church stadiums
We would get out if we knew just how with the radio on

Standing in line to get my self-help book signed off
On by the reverend who shouts to the converted
Have mercy on this boy he did it all by the book
But still kind of has his doubts
Oh you look pretty good in that jonquil dress
But your smile is a wooden nickel’s pride
and I know that it ain’t worth much but I feels good to touch
And I think that I could dance if I tried with your radio on

Oh when I’ve got a worried mind I know
I hear the ghost of Patsy Cline
On the Grand Old Opry Show
