This is weird. The Gazette.net is reporting that Rangers in Seneca State Park are finding bottles floating in Clopper Lake with pictures of hands inside and cryptic messages. One thing that makes this creepy to me is that the film Blair Witch Project was partially filmed there. Wow, just got goosebumps! hehe

CNN.com is reporting the death of Laura Branigan, age 47. That’s sad, only 47.

Today Veronica and April started school, the summer is officially over! Sorry guys, hope you had a great summer. Last night was back to school night for Veronica. I am sure April’s is soon also. It feels like fall to me all of a sudden, like I should be getting myself ready for the school year, oh well.

Tahoe was cool!

We really packed it in for a two-day trip. We got to the Lake Tahoe area at about 11:00 on Saturday morning and our first stop was Pope Beach in the west Lake Tahoe area. It was a really nice beach and it wasn’t really crowded for a Saturday. It’s a really big beach and we had a nice time relaxing for an hour or two before moving on. We got to Tahoe City around 2:00 and after finding our Motel and checking-in we hung out in the pool for a while, the girls really had a blast swimming. After that we had an early dinner at a nearby restaurant called The Blue Agave. Good Mexican food and an extensive Tequila bar! I love fancy tequilas, yumm! After dinner we walked across the street to another beach area. It was more rocky but had a nice playground for the kids. The water in that area of the lake was very shallow and we were able to walk out a couple hundred yards and the water was only ankle deep. It was a great way to spend the evening. It started getting dark so we headed back to our room and found the hot tub that was up on the roof overlooking the lake, what a perfect way to end the day!

On Sunday we packed up and rolled back down to South-Shore and had breakfast at Harrahs (Sunday Brunch!) it was really good, I had crab, shrimp, bacon – heaven! After eating too much we found ourselves back at Pope beach for the rest of the day. We left for home around 2:30. It was a long drive as we got stuck in traffic leaving Tahoe and most of the way home, ahhhh California! (too many people!)

I have a bunch of pics to post -hopefully tonight!

Tahoe City

We have bugged out and are in Tahoe. Instead of the standard South Lake Tahoe thing, we opted for the North-West Tahoe thing. It’s great so far. I found a room Thursday afternoon for Saturday night. Cool. We are at the Travel Lodge Tahoe City after exploring the beaches of Tahoe, here we are at Pope Beach, Lake Tahoe CA.

Bean Festival=Hell on Earth

What an awful Bean Fest! The City Of Tracy blew this one, don’t pay attention to what you read in the papers, it was Hell on Earth. The event could have been moved to one of many different parks in Tracy at least for this year, but noooo they would rather have us suffer in the heat while we part with our hard earned money. This will be the LAST time I spend a dime at the Bean Fest for the next few years anyway. (Or quite possibly downtown for that matter) Why was the kids area in a dirt parking lot, IN THE DIRECT SUN forcing parents to scorch waiting in line for stupid kid rides? This is all you can come up with for “kid activities”? Over half of the event was on sixth street ALSO IN THE DIRECT SUN. Duh. Is everyone involved with the Bean Festival a moran? How about that car show? Yup next to the tracks in 100+ degree DIRECT SUNLIGHT. Stupid.

Today was Bridging Ceremonies for April’s Brownie troupe. They have moved from Brownies to Juniors! What a fun day it was too. The bridging was on a little bridge at a park in Hidden Lake here in Tracy and then we went to a BBQ and swim party at a home nearby. Great job April!! Here she is in her new vest, nice!

April!

Feels like summer!

What up blog fans? It sure feels like summer around here. The hills are brown, it’s hot and dry. There is a nice breeze blowing right now so I guess I can’t really complain too much. This weekend is the Tracy Bean Festival, April has a Girl Scout Bridging Ceremonial and BBQ and my neighbor is having a tattoo party! The thrills and adventure await us for this mid-summer weekend! WooHoo! Look for frequent blog updates my friends.

Oh crap, I just realized I have to work tomorrow! Dang it!
