Veronica is set for her biopsy this week. It should be pretty straight forward, it all seems pretty routine to the doctors anyway. Lisa and I are on pins-and-needles. I just hope things go smooth, I really feel for Veronica. The upside is that we are going to go shopping which makes Veronica happy! The Stanford Mall is nearby and we will have time to take a look around before the surgery which might be fun. Also, we have a room at Dinah’s Garden Hotel and plan on having dinner at Trader Vic’s which is on the hotel property. We will make the best of this situation I suppose, a sort of mini vacation in a way! Not too fun for Veronica though.

Tiger, what up G?

Here I am with the dog. Lisa and I had a nice walk this morning and we took the Kahlua. Sure didn’t feel like November, it was really nice! Below Lisa helps Kahlua with the water fountain, what a cool dog!

Palo Alto

Today we were in Palo Alto to see the doctor that will do the biopsy. She was cool and really seemed to know what she was doing -really sharp. We are so lucky to have such great doctors helping Veronica. Anyway it was such a nice day, it must have been close to 80, it felt like spring!

I was wondering where they made cheesecake!

We had lunch at The Great Plate, it was great!

Abe took care of the driving!

Veronica and her Health

I have decided to post info about Veronica’s health situation here because it helps me deal with what is happening and it’s also a good place to document the on going appointments and progresses. The last thing I want to do though is embarrass Veronica or say too much that might be a bit too personal, so I caveat all of this with with the notion that it may all dissapear if it starts to bother her. But hey, most people that we know have heard what is happening with her anyway, so these postings again will be mostly for my own benefit. Also, we have quite a few people (most we don’t know) who are praying for Veronica and I really appreciate this very much. Perhaps God reads blogs too. ;-)

We are scheduling a biopsy for Veronica very soon. She has a mass on her lung that was picked up during a chest x-ray a month or so ago. She had a cold and cough that she was fighting and that lead to a chest x-ray. In the x-ray they saw a mass that could not be identified on the outside of her lung. The Dr. ordered a CT Scan and we contacted Stanford Medical to take a look. We drove out to Stanford and they decided that it might just be related to her infection, could be Valley Fever, lets wait and do another CT Scan after 6 weeks. She had the second scan recently and the mass is unchanged. Since CT Scans only show so much it was recommended that we get a sample and find out for sure what it is.

This is where we are at this point: We have been recommended a surgeon that will perform the mediastinoscopy we are working the details of when the procedure will be performed etc. It is an outpatient deal under general anesthesia at Stanford.

Thanks for listening…
