“You can never repeal the laws of physics, and a smaller, lighter vehicle is always at a disadvantage no matter how many safety features are built into it,” said Russ Rader, a spokesman for the Virginia-based Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

(tracypress.com) Beneath a steady rain at the Tracy Cemetery in a section known as Little Arlington, a row of seven U.S. Marines in dress uniform fired 21 rounds into the gray Tracy sky Monday. Read More tracypress.com
Just feeling really grateful today for all I have; kids, wife, job, house. The whole Veronica thing with Stanford and her health seems like a bad dream now, but the last few days there have been a few things that remind me of how lucky we are. The latest is a story in today’s Tracy Press (read the article here) about little Kiona, an 11 year old from Tracy who lost her battle with cancer yesterday. I remember reading about her right after Veronica’s surgery, I was shocked to read of her passing this morning. The other piece of news is about a kid (a man really, he died a man and a hero in my book -but seems like a kid to me cause he was so young) who was killed in action on Friday in Iraq (read the article here). Life is good, hell it’s great! When I get home I’m gonna hug each one of my family members (even the damn cats) with great enthusiasm and count each and every blessing before I sleep. -dp
I heard this on the news last night…
CARSON, Calif. – The last time Alan Poster saw his dream car, he was young and it was blue.
Nearly four decades later, he’s a little grayer and the car has turned silver but it was love at first sight all over again as the Corvette somebody swiped in New York City was returned to him. Link to story, The Mercury News
I had to get new tires for the old truck yesterday. I hated to spend the dollars, but I am tired of slipping around the road on my old, bald tires. Anyway, while I was fretting over the decision, I noticed this strange beam of light as if God was telling me I made a good choice.

So I launched a new web site last weekend, it’s called tracy-mountainhouse.com. I plan to make this a local blog more focused on the local area news and events and whatever. I’m hoping to get some help with postings by encouraging folks to get a login and, well, posting stuff about this place. I wanted to keep the focus of this blog more family and photography. Take a look sometime. Get an account and post some stuff with me! There really is a lot going on around here in our little (crowded) neck of the woods…

I love the Flickr, here is a bar in SF that has a Flickr photo booth that uploads to their photo stream, so cool!

Having been on a bit of a blog-hiatus, a vacation away from the blog I guess, I am back! I hope that you survived Christmas and the New Years Eve thing. We had a grand time. Games were played, fine ales consumed and there was tons of good food to go around. The ball dropped, my neighbor lit an m1000, the dog freaked, and we all got to wear these cool hats. Happy New Year everyone!
