I sat in with a band last night, Mushroom Stamp, it was fun man! Picture by Gary. (thanks Gary!) We opened for a band called SLED, they were killer, what a crazy night! (check out the fog machine!)

Found a cool 78 in Jim’s records from Jack Guthrie. He is the cousin of Woody and had quite a go as a country singer in the forties. It’s a great 78 and I have included a couple mp3’s for you to enjoy. The intersting thing about Jack was that he died in Livermore at the Vetrans Hospital TB Sanatarium. When we were kids we would go out there at night and party and stuff, it was a creepy place that we all thought was a mental hosiptal. Great fun. Anyway, Jack died there in 1948. Here are a couple tunes for ya…

Today I washed the Z (I love the sound of that, as opposed to “I washed the mini-van”) and Marina was right there to help me. She really does a good job, I rarely have to go back over what she has done especially drying, she does not miss a drop. Thanks Marina, sure was fun!

We are all missing you Jim…here are Dave (Jim’s brother) with Brian (Jim’s nefew) releasing a balloon that we all signed at the memorial back in May.

Here is me with my good friend and former bandmate from Cement Trampoline Scott London. This was taken by Lisa minutes after my sitting in with Slackenloader for a few songs at West Valley Bowl in Tracy. I played bass. It was the first time I have played with Scott since leaving Cement Trampoline way back when. It really meant a lot to me to be playing with Scott again (’sniff) it was really fun to play with the Slackenloader dudes too, thanks guys!
