#75 Chef – You get to wear a funny hat and eat great food.
via Digg

I am almost at a loss for words. How does this happen… This saddens me and terrifies me all at the same time, Veronica is a freshman at West. She and her friends are very close to driving age. Please, please, PLEASE be careful out there guys, you can die so easily in a car, even on city streets where you think only fender-benders happen. My heart goes out to the parents and friends of the dead and injured, what a sad day for these families. What a sad day for West High and all of Tracy really.

Here is the wizard Gary behind the console of Gary Tittle Studios! Tonight we recorded a couple songs and I played bass on some tracks that they had recorded while I was out of commission. It was a blast, we ate some fantastic food and kicked out some jams!

No snow, just real cold!

Well it has been really dry around here, very cold and dry. I guess whatever rain/snow that was coming our way never made it, oh well. It has been pretty darn cold however, in the 20’s last night. I think I would rather have some rain and warmer temps, right now its a comfy 55 degrees here in the daveparker.com headquarters (my garage) and I am heading back inside where it really is toasty warm!

We might get snow tonight!

There is a front moving in and it may bring snow with it down to around 1000 feet, it might look like last year! I want to build a snowman on the front lawn and bean the neighbors with snowballs! hehe

Here is a pic from last year on Patterson Pass Rd, around Feb.

I have been reading a book called Hardcore Troubadour: The Life and Near Death of Steve Earle which came out of Jim’s collection, I remember Jim talking many times about Steve Earle who he really liked, anyway Steve’s first record was called Guitar Town and guess who just won a SIGNED copy on ebay? Yep, me! WooHoo!! And it only set me back 13 bux. It’s times like this that I really miss Jim, he would have gotten a kick out of hearing this news, -hey Jim I’ll think of you everytime I spin this baby, I already have your copy of ‘Exit 0′ from Steve Earle, thanks man!

This is so cool, The Tracy Press has expanded their blog page on their web site to include local community blogs! My site is there along with several other Tracy bloggers site listings. Thanks Tracy Press, that’s really neat to see that this site is listed! I have been blogging/photo-blogging for over three years now, the archives go back to March of 2004, I am thinking that makes me the King of Tracy blogs! Looks like the Shibley’s got me beat, by a couple years, awesome! hehe I am really very happy to be a part of the list along with my fellow Tracy bloggers, nice Job guys and thanks again! -Dave

Hey! did you catch the Garrison Keillor New Years Eve Special on PBS Sunday night? Man, what a great show! They replayed it again on Monday and I was able to DVR it and enjoy it a few more times. There were some great artists playing who did an awsome job such as Suzy Bogguss, Old Crow Medicine Show and of course Emmylou Harris who I just love. There was Cowboy Jack Clement who was an engineer and producer for Sun Records and worked with Elvis and Johnny Cash. Pretty cool, here is the link to the show, try to catch it if you can!

Happy New Year!
