Sally The Snake Is AWAKE

Sally is awake and she is looking for a mouse…

I sure am glad I don’t have to go near the bay area anytime soon, what a mess! This major interchange, I80 to I880 (and I24) is closed and traffic going out of San Francisco is a disaster! This happened yesterday, just in time for the Monday morning commute. Hang in there people!

Lazy Day Sunday

Today was a nice an easy day. It was warm with a nice breeze and I lounged in a yard chair sipping iced tea watching the girls play in the yard, the older ones interested in adding a little color to their just fresh from winter skin and the little one having a blast splashing about in the water, it’s summer! (almost)

Japanese Muscle

Here is my friend Dave’s new Stratoliner next to my 280zx. It was nice today and I had the T-Tops off and was buzzing around town and ran into Dave and took this shot real quick. That bike sports a 113 cubic inch (that’s 1854cc boys and girls, yes eighteen-hundred-fifty-four) V-Twin and it’s made in Japan which means it will still be running in 30 years like my Datsun behind it. The Z BTW is a 2.8 liter inline-six (that’s 2753cc) and is all original with 211,000 miles on it, runs great too, she just purrs at 100mph…

The thing I like best about being a conservative is that I don’t have to lie. I don’t have to pretend that men and women are the same. I don’t have to declare that failed or oppressive cultures are as good as mine. I don’t have to say that everyone’s special or that the rich cause poverty or that all religions are a path to God. I don’t have to claim that a bad writer like Alice Walker is a good one or that a good writer like Toni Morrison is a great one. I don’t have to pretend that Islam means peace.

The Joy Of Camping

This looks like a pretty neat site, lots of camping stuff. I am ready for some camping, well I am ready in my mind anyway. I am far from really being ready to go however. For one thing, in California you need reservations well in advance to get a decent campground unless you enjoy sharing the woods with meth labs and assholes playing music for everyone to “enjoy”. However I will get the family out of the house this summer. Somewhere far away from boys and cell phones and myspace and boys, God help me.

A couple that built a mansion next to Altamont Speedway have managed to impose a temporary ban on drifting at the long-established California motorsports facility. The drifters plan on reversing the decision at the Board of Supervisors meeting today, and taking the battle to Arnold Schwarzenegger if they lose. Support your local race track.

This ad, for the River City Bagel & Bakery in Boise, Idaho, reportedly ran in the Boise Weekly. No wonder the place has a “fun atmosphere.”
