Feist, Let It Die…

Let it die and get out of my mind
We don’t see eye to eye
Or hear ear to ear

Don’t you wish that we could forget that kiss ?
And see this for what it is
That we’re not in love

The saddest part of a broken heart
Isn’t the ending so much as the start

It was hard to tell just how I felt
To not recognize myself
I started to fade away

And after all it won’t take long to fall in love
Now I know what I don’t want
I learned that with you

The saddest part of a broken heart
Isn’t the ending so much as the start
The tragedy starts from the very first spark
Losing your mind for the sake of your heart
The saddest part of a broken heart
Isn’t the ending so much as the start

This is Marina state beach in Marina, California, We had to stop here of course on our way back from Monterey. It’s a nice beach, but the surf can be huge at times be careful if you bring kids. I was watching a Sea Otter playing in the surf, those little guys are cute!

Guitar Lessons!

April has started taking guitar lessons! Here she is with her teacher, Greg Darling. I think it’s pretty cool that she is into learning guitar, it will be fun to play together as she gets past the hard part of first learning to play. BTW, recognize that guitar that she is playing? It’s an Epi Les Paul Jr that belonged to a good friend of mine and I know he would think it’s pretty cool that April is playing it now, thanks buddy, good luck April!

Trojan revenge

Few moments in Tracy High volleyball history can compare with Oct. 12, 2006, when the Bulldogs, seeking their second-straight CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoff berth, upended perennial rival Lincoln for the first time in years, 3-2, after falling into a 2-1 hole.

Veronica Celebrates!

Here are Veronica and James celebrating after an awesome day of Volleyball!

Today was an all-day Volleyball Tournament for Veronica’s team and about 12 or so other teams from the area. It was hosted by West High (nice job guys!) and it went all day long. Veronica’s team, Tracy Bulldogs JV, really played well, it was so fun to see game after game, the girls all really put killer effort into every game. Veronica made some awesome plays too just reaching up over the net and tapping the ball back down, being tall comes in handy! It was two games each round and each game was to 15. The JV Bulldogs just missed the finals by one game, but went on to the consolation rounds which are single games to 25 -winner moves on. This was the late afternoon and they beat three teams in a row taking the trophy! It was so exciting to watch! After playing all day they took home a beautiful winning a trophy! Great job guys, way to go Veronica!!

Mom Confronts Mattel Over Toy Recall

This whole thing really pisses me off, she is right. The whole thing is confusing and leaves you with the feeling that you missed something. Lead can devastate a child’s health, I am ready to toss it all regardless. Thanks Walmart, thanks China, thanks greedy corporate America. You suck.

– She was worried her children’s toys could be tainted, so a local mom took action and took on giant toymaker Mattel. Scared and angry about possibly dangerous amounts of lead in her children’s toys, a Southland mother has taken her concerns directly to toy-making giant Mattel. At Mattel headquarters in El Segundo, one mom’s mission and how the giant toy maker responded.

Better Comments Manager Plugin

I have always been a bit confused how to handle comments on this site using WordPress. What happens is that when someone comments, I get an email and the comments go on the site. Well I never know if I should reply via email or on the site. Replying to comments within WP was clumsy until now! I have installed a cool plugin called Better Comments Manager which makes it really easy to reply to comments and add to threads within the WP control panel. So thanks to everyone who drops by and says hi, hopefully my replies will make more sense (even if it’s just me!). If you have commented in the past and wondered if it fell in a deep dark hole don’t worry, It was me being lame! I plan to reply to all comments on the site rather than via email unless it gets weird or something. Anyway I am glad I cleared that up, I feel better now. -dp
